The Music Feature is back! And if you haven’t noticed the changes just yet, then have a click on the MUSIC tab on the top menu. Here you will be rewarded with a bunch of new music to check out from all the bands and artists we’ve featured thus far. Once a month, we will be adding to this collection of hard working collectives from Ontario and Quebec.
So onward with the next addition to this family, we decided to go for some good ol’ fashion rock n’ roll! From Mississauga, please welcome One In The Chamber.
Well these guys are just the whole package aren’t they? From their look to their branding and logos, and most importantly to their groovy and gritty rock n’ roll riffs. When you hit play on their music video for “Bills to Pay”, you get a glimpse right away of what you’re about to get. What’s even better is it exceeds your expectation as soon as vocalist Mike Biase’s voice kicks in. It’s got that grit and power that is nostalgic to rock tunes on the radio. While the influences are heavily present, the band manages to keep things fresh and modern. Well done. I'll let the music do the talking, because honestly it just rocks:
“Bills to Pay” is just the first single off of One In The Chamber’s upcoming EP “I’ve Got Something To Say…”. The EP is composed of five tunes recorded at Toronto’s Phase One Studios and produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Murray Daigle (Platinum Blonde, Serena Ryder). The production on the EP is great, with the guitars being crisp and clear, the kick and snare produce the right amount of punch and snap respectively, and the vocals sit perfectly in the middle just above the guitars. It’s a great listen, and my personal favourite is “The Ballad of Captain Jack”. If you can’t wait until September 22nd for the EP to be released, you can check out their live tracks which just prove these guys are the real deal.
If you’re in the Toronto area, you may consider checking One In The Chamber out yourself. Their EP release show for “I’ve Got Something to Say…” takes place on the day of its release, September 22nd at The Hideout Toronto. The show also features the opening acts DROP TOP ALIBI and The Reed Effect. One In The Chamber is also nominated for Best Rock for the 2018 Mississauga Music Awards! The awards take place September 29th at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga.
